    MEAT·DAIRY·BAKERY (MDB) — is a specialized exhibition for meat, dairy and bakery market of Kazakhstan, which presents the whole range of production and processing equipment and technological solutions, including accessories, ingredients, packing, refrigeration equipment, control and measuring instruments, etc.
     
    MAIN AIMS OF MDB EXHIBITION ARE
    1 To show current capacities, investment attractiveness and development prospects of advanced processing of agricultural products.
    2 To decrease food staples import, to increase domestic products competitiveness and export potential.
    3 To upgrade equipment and enhance enterprises productivity.

    WHY KAZAKHSTAN?

    With 180 million hectares of natural pastures (the 5th place in the world), Kazakhstan has an enormous potential for cattle breeding development and further meat and milk processing.

    Kazakhstan is in the top ten of global wheat and flour exporters. At that, mostly strong and hard wheat breeds with high gluten content are under cultivation.

    Today, processing of agricultural raw materials, as well as production of high quality, available and competitive food stuff is at the forefront of the republican agroindustrial complex.

    Integration within the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) frameworks and entry into the World Trade Organization provides Kazakhstan with sterling opportunities to expand products markets.

    Attraction of global (anchor) investors and partners to create and develop meat and dairy clusters in the republic regions in order to develop the raw material base and export of processed products.

    Mechanisms of state support of new production capacities and enterprises modernization by way of investment subsidization of equipment cost amounting to 30% of the total project expenses. Subsidization of the equipment procurement credit loan and/or leasing remuneration rate up to 7% per annum for a period of 7 years.

    Customs exemption for 5 years for import of technological equipment and accessories, as well as for import of equipment spare parts, raw and other materials.

    FIGURES AND FACTS

    Within the framework of the agroindustrial complex state support program “Agrobusiness-2020”, more than 139 bln. tenge ($ 412 Mln) is to be assigned to develop food and pharmaceutical industries by 2020. In 2015, the overall production of industrial products made:
    153 bln. tenge ($454 Mln) on meat processing and preserving and meat products manufacturing;
    167 bln. tenge ($495 Mln) on bakery and pastries production;
    187 bln. tenge ($555 Mln) on dairy products manufacturing.
     
    More than 800 large- and medium-sized enterprises, excluding small business entities and individual entrepreneurs, work in the sphere of meat and milk processing and bakery goods production.
     
    26% of equipment at meat processing plants is depreciated.
    30% of working equipment and technologies of milk processing plants requires upgrading.
    80% of bakery goods production machinery and equipment has been in use for more than 20 years and require renovation.
    By 2020, Kazakhstan plans to reduce food import by three times through developing the food-processing industry.
    Kazakhstan Government sets a task to increase the overall production and export of processed products at least twice by 2020 in comparison to the level of 2012.
